The Barry Sisters
Two jewish sisters, Clara and Minnie Bagelman became popular in the jazz arena in the 1940s-1960s. Their swings with yiddish lyrics were the hits of the New York Radio Show “Yiddish Melodies in Swing”. Their glamour and harmonious voices brought them into public attention. They were guests in the Ed Sullivan Show, Jack Paar and had live appearances throughout the world. They were among the few American acts to tour the Soviet Union in 1959.
