Bong-Ra is the performing name of Dutch breakcore musician Jason Kohnen from Utrecht. He has been active under this name since 1996. His style is sometimes credited as Yardcore or Raggacore, blending Reggae and Ragga with Breakcore, though he also incorporates other styles amongst others Metal, Gabba, Jazz, Rave and Jungle.
Jason Kohnen also is as part of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, an experimental dark jazz band, who started off as an audiovisual project back in 2000, influenced by old silent movie (also The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation, the experimental ambient/ noise/ drone alter ego of The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble). I promise to post something about these projects in the future.
